The large-scale turbine rehabilitation is ongoing at Karakaya HEPP, one of Turkey's largest power generation plants.

The turbines of Karakaya HEPP, which is owned by EÜAŞ and the second largest publicly held power plant in the country, are being rehabilitated.

As part of the project, the plant’s turbine runners are being renewed step by step.

The first unit's refurbished turbine runners at Karakaya HEPP are set to start operating by the end of the month.

Once the project completed, all six turbines -each with a capacity of 300 MW- will be fully modernized.

With these upgrades, the efficiency of the units will increase from 91% to 94.5%.
