TOPÇAM HEPP

Topçam Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant was built on the Melet River, 40 km from Mesudiye district of Ordu province and 64 km from Ordu city center. It has a total installed power of 61.35 MW with 3 generators, each of which is 20,45 MW, and its annual production capacity is foreseen as 200 million kWh.

The construction of Topçam Dam and HEPP, located in the Yeşilırmak Basin, started in 1996 and started production at full capacity in early 2017.

The height of the dam, which was built in clay core rock fill type, from the foundation is 122 m. The maximum reservoir volume is 132 hm³ and the water in the dam lake reaches the power plant through a 7.5 km energy tunnel.
